To Write Love On Her Arms

She Said "Tell them to look up. Tell them to remember the stars"

All that we are is encompased in one phrase
hopes and dreams spread amongst the stars
the guiding lights to all that we are
an eternal memory of all who love.

Theres a story, that speaks more than words can tell
of the deepest darkest pain
to the greatest brightest light
a story of hope, a story of love, the story of a girl and her stars

'Shes so similar' I think to myself
and i cant help but listen to how the story speaks
and i cant help but feel how hard the story hits home
when home is a strange place, where do we find hope?

To write love on her arms;
a dream shared by many
a story lived by more
and a dear friend i remembered, whose soul can now soar
She came to me crying, open wounds on her arms
but none that spelt love
She lived in an unending dream, that soon became hell
an endless cycle of the same thing that never fell
and over and over it hit her again
an endless force to relieve her pain

I looked to the sky, asking for the strength to see this through
to give her hope, to mend her amrs anew
I was given a message, to rekindle my faith

'through you, it will work, dont give up on yourself'
'Be that star' and with that it was gone
As i looked into the sky that night
nothing was there to viel my sight
thousands of lights glistening out hope
staring at the earth in wonder, for they saw stars shining

If i could feel every scar she had i know i would die
as i raise her arms into the sky
i tell her 'theres no way its over yet'
even as the sun comes set
and the clouds stop us from seeing those stars
i told her 'i could shine bright enough for two'
and 'theres no way i'm letting go of you'

I'd stay with her constantly, finding words that i didnt even know
words that set hope into the most lonely and darkerst of hearts
and i didnt know it then, but i myself had changed
i had hope for myself and for those i loved.

maybe stars aren't just in the sky
I'll make sure starlight never dies
there are those right here
that are willing to shine for two
and with those people, you can write love on arms anew

To write love on her arms
a dream shared by many
a story lived by more
Love is the movement
